TYPES OF SEALANT
ROCKHARD 985-111-800: Normally used on castings which allow .001 to .005 coating buildup, and which are going to be reprocessed through anodize or re-chromating.
PHYSICAL PROPERTIES Color = Clear, extremely chemical resistant, very hard and erosion resistant. Resistant to humidity or Trichloroethylene. Holds up during anodizing and re-chromating. Provides protection to metals from attack by salt and other corrosive environments. When used in conjunction with Heavy film anodic coatings, it can yield up to 8000+ hours salt spray. (ASTM B117)
TYPICAL APPLICATIONS
- Computer chassis
- Engine blocks
- Heat exchangers
- Aircraft components, gearbox cases
- Pumps, compressor housings
- Frames, gearbox covers, turbine housings
SURFACE QUALITY Texture of coating is smooth; poor intercoat adhesion. Normally used without any top coats, If top coating with paint or sealant, primer should be used
